Trestle Board - October 2021
My Brothers,
I certainly hope all our Ionic Brothers are doing well and that you and your families are healthy and safe.
I for one am glad things are somewhat getting back to normal, but we are very far from being able to say this Covid mess is behind us. Please continue to take necessary precautions to keep yourselves safe from this plague. This menacing pandemic has affected us all but is especially haunting Ionic Lodge right now. Please keep Lady Rebecca (our JW Scott’s wife) in your prayers. Her situation is very serious right now and she needs all the prayers she can get.
September has been a busy month at the Lodge. Our Chaplain Worshipful Jeffrey P.M. successfully instructed our Fellow Crafts in their Catechism and they stood Proficiency on the September 16th and we have been preparing ever since for their Master Mason Degree which will be held at Ionic Lodge on October 7th. This will be a special session starting an hour earlier than usual. Dinner will be at 5:00 PM and the Degree will begin at 6:00 PM. The reason for this is we will have five Fellow Crafts to raise that evening. There will be three Brothers from Ionic Lodge and two Brothers from Riverside Lodge. If you can come, please do so.
Also, for those who have never experienced the Annual Outdoor Master Mason Degree at Fort Clinch, it is scheduled for Saturday October 16th. Supper will be served from 3:00 P.M.to 5:00 P.M. at Amelia Lodge No. 47 located at 1101 South 14th Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The Degree will take place at 6:00 P.M. in the Fort. The Brothers participating in the Degree and those attending will be doing so wearing Civil War regalia. It is a site to see, and every Northeast Florida Mason should witness this Degree at least once. All Brothers attending the Degree will receive free access at the front gate entrance to the State Park. Just tell the attendant you are attending the Degree. Don’t forget a lawn chair, bug spray, a flashlight and maybe a jacket.
Hope everyone has a great October and remember as always……“Be Excellent to each other!”
