My Brothers,

Fourth of July weekend is here already. Time sure flies when your having fun and we have been having lots of fun at Ionic Lodge this year. We sincerely hope everyone enjoys the 245th Anniversary of our Nations Declaration of Independence. I for one am glad our Forefathers committed treason. If they had not, we would all be singing “God Save the Queen.”

This past month our EA’s stood Proficient, and we have scheduled their Fellow Craft Degree for July 15th. The Widow’s Sons will be conducting the FC Degree and PM Harry Sheppell will be sitting in the East. This will be a great evening so please attend if you are able. Dinner is at 6:00 and the Degree is at 7:00. JW Scott RuBright and Lady Rebecca will be cooking the vittles, and they sure know how to pepper the gumbo.

In June we also had Brother W.W. “Bill” Gay’s Memorial and Masonic Rites. It was a very touching and solemn ceremony followed by a delicious lunch prepared by JW Scott RuBright and Lady Rebecca. We want to thank all the brothers who attended and helped make this event a success. A special thanks to Brother Bill Crime for conducting the Masonic Rites for Brother Gay and brothers SW Taylor Basford, PM Jeff Wilson, PM Kim Whitlock, JD David Anderson and Travis White for serving as Chaplain, Deacons and Stewards during the ceremony. It was a huge success, and the family was deeply moved by the love and appreciation that was exhibited by the Brethren.

Again, we hope that everyone enjoys this holiday weekend and stays safe. And as always, “Be Excellent to each other!”
