Trestle Board - June 2025

Greetings Brothers,

This past week our Worshipful Master, Wardens, & Secretary traveled to Orlando to represent Ionic Lodge at the Grand Lodge Proceedings.  At the 196th Grand Communication, the Craft elected our next Grand Master to lead Masonry into the future.  Ionic Lodge would like to congratulate Most Worshipful Taleb T. Atala for being elected and installed as the new Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the State of Florida.  We would also like to thank the outgoing Grand Master, M:.W:. Donald Cowart, for his service to the Fraternity and wish our Brother the best in his future endeavors.  Over 1500 Masons from across the state, as well as visiting Brothers from other jurisdictions attended the Conference this year, making for great comradely and fellowship.
  
District 9 has a newly appointed District Deputy Grand Master.  R:.W:. Mario from Albert J. Russell Lodge No. 126 will be serving as our new DDGM.  Our official visit has already been scheduled for August 21st.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this meeting.  Our reputation has been growing throughout the district; let's continue to show how well Masonry is flourishing here at Ionic.
 
Traditionally, Ionic goes dark during the month of July, but many Brothers have expressed a desire to continue getting together in lieu of going dark.  So, this year, we will still meet for Dinner on the same 1st and 3rd Thursdays but no meeting.  This will be time for Brothers to break bread, share stories, play cards, and simply enjoy laughing together.
  
At our June 19th meeting will be having two lodges visit us, Amelia Lodge No. 47 & Callahan Lodge No. 32.  We will also have a member of the Knights of Light presenting a Masonic Lecture.  Please plan to attend; this should be a great meeting with a packed house.
 
Alas My Brother: We received word this week that Brother Joseph A. Philyaw of Ionic Lodge No. 101, was called home to the Celestial Lodge Above by the Supreme Architect of the Universe.  Brother Philyaw was living in Texas with his family and passed this week in Hospice care.  Please remember his family in your prayers.
